KK_THERAPY's Massage Interview
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
Not Necessarily, but it does help.. you never know what potential client is coming to you next or what services they may benefit from. I make it my business to be proficient in all modalities of my profession!
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I try to travel out of town at least twice a year.. I would prefer more but it doesn’t always workout that way. I also love my time home. Lol
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
I love music and entertainment so on my free time I usually sing, write songs or do a little acting!
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
I think I would, for me giving a massage can be just as therapeutic as receiving one depending on the energy. I love what I do!
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
I do.. I feel like if you can branch off on your own and make a living doing what you love you are successful.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
I want the experience to always be better than their expectations. My goal is that my clients always look forward to their next session.
Why did you become a Masseur?
Honestly, I think it was a calling. Something I often thought about but never thought I would or could do it... I was attending a school that had the certificate program but financial aid wouldn’t pay for certificates so I changed majors. Just before I finished my prerequisites the school added massage therapy into a degree program. Naturally I switched and have been doing it every since!
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
Be certain that you are doing it for the right reasons. Ground yourself and protect your energy. Know your boundaries and stick to them!
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
My massage is always geared towards the client I have at the time so no two clients ever get the same massage. Always great, but each client’s experience is unique!
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
7 years and counting. I will continue until I can’t anymore!
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
Better than they expected. I want them to leave looking forward to their next session!
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
I am a genuine, honest person who only wants the best for everyone!
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
I will always remember my first client. I remember how nervous I was going in for the first time. She gave me the absolute best feedback and it kept me going!
