KingBCox's Massage Interview
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
My first client was an incredible guy, had been through a lot of stress and needed to relax his body and his mind. Massage isn't only about physical touch, which is an essential part of human existence, but also about clearing and calming the mind. This gentleman needed both. I was able to help him through relax and achieve that. He is still one of my favorite clients to work with to this day.
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
I consider myself a successful therapist because I am able to give back to people in need. Through connection; physical, emotional and mental, I am able to provide an experience that releases my clients from the stress of our everyday grind.
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
To say I would miss massaging people in need is a total understatement. I can't imagine not helping others through this avenue. I get healing from it as much as my clients do. It's really an incredible career and line of work.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
To only pick ONE thing that I would want my clients to know about me is difficult, but it would have to be this:
I love people. I want kindness and love to spread from within me into my clients so that they can go out into the world happier, more loving, more giving... Able to be their healthiest self. Kindness and love can be the answer to most of our stresses and doubts that infiltrate our bodies and turn into tension. Let me help. I love everyone!
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
I want my clients to feel relaxed, calm, respected and most of all HAPPY when they get off my table and walk back out into the real world. I want this experience we have together to be like another world where we leave our troubles at the door and connect with each other on a physical, emotional, and mental level. Release your mind and body and come get happy.
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
There a three things you can find me doing when I'm not rubbing you down: playing tennis, shooting pool, and working out. (I like to eat, too... I won't turn you down for a dinner date! 😁)
Why did you become a Masseur?
I decided to do this because not only do I love helping people, but because this line of work helps me as much as my clients. I needed this, to relax myself, to reconnect with my inner energy. I did this to spread love and kindness in a healthy way... For my clients AND for myself.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
Do it! There is something magical and healing about giving yourself to help others. And go get some massages, if you haven't! Learning from others is essential.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
Look, I'm unlike anyone you've ever met, not just massage therapist. 😏 Come find out for yourself.
Where I live might distinguish myself if you like overlooking Music City while you unwind and relax in my hands. Check out my pics for the view.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
I grew up learning massage from my grandmother who practiced a technique called Rolphing for 40+ years. I've been doing sensual massage for a couple of years on my own now and I see myself doing this as long as my body allows me to. I absolutely love it.
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I absolutely love traveling! I probably don't do it enough because I stay so busy here at home... I need someone to push me to travel more! I'm a fan of warm weather and no clothes... 🌴
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
I don't think extensive training in necessary to be successful. Some people are born to do things... Massage included. I think what makes people successful is ALWAYS being a student. Learn from everyone and everything you are able to. Knowledge arm us with the ability to be the best we can be.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
I love for people to feel like they have experienced something they will never forget. I want you to escape your world while you're with me. I want you to feel uplifted and ready to take on the real world feeling completely confident, happy, relaxed and released. Come find that feeling here with me.
