KirksBodywork's Massage Interview
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
I'd rather let some of my client reviews answer that question: http://www.kirksmassage.com
Why did you become a Masseur?
I did not have a choice. Some healers must lay their hands on others to practice their vocation.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
28 years of experience. True somatic intuition. A full heart. I do not offer "sports massage" per se though I believe what I offer is superior for most athletes because I integrate mind, body and spirit, and work deeply on muscles and so much more. My work is about healing through sensorial/sensual touch. I am not your practitioner if you are seeking a "rub & tug." Other masseurs can help you with that. :-)
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
Upon completion, it is very common for a client to tell me that they just received "the very best massage of their life!" I love when this happens. I work hard to fully integrate mind, body and spirit. I want my clients to feel relaxed, stress-free, embodied, balanced, enlivened, whole, awakened, fully present, happy and ready to face life again with renewed vigor and gusto.
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
It helps! I am trained in Swedish/Esalan and bring many other techniques learned over the years to each session.
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I do not travel. I offer incalls. Exceptions may be made with significant financial incentives.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
I have been a massage therapist for 30 years and an intimacy and relationship coach for 5 years. http://www.fudokirk.com In addition to pursuing my creative ventures, I intend to continue helping others through coaching and massage for the rest of my life. I am wired for it.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
When not working as a massage therapist, I am a filmmaker, musician and an intimacy & relationship coach. I have an eclectic life. I even started modeling.
