LexIcon's Massage Interview
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
I definitely think I would miss my masseur days. I think there is such an intimacy in the work that we do and the pleasure we can bring to our clients. No two bodies are ever the same, so to fully do our job, we must attain some level of familiarity with our clients. Hearing about what brings people in for a massage is also such an interesting part as well since no two people are looking for the exact same thing.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
I want them to feel as if I have helped them in some way. I understand that I may not be a match for everyone. I want people to walk away feeling as if I have helped them relive some burden from their life. Whether they experience a physical release of tension or just enjoy the peaceful time and can forgot about the world outside the room, I want someone to feel as if they had an enjoyable time.
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
In my spare time, I like to help others as a private tutor - I like to think I help to ease pressure both physically as a masseuse and mentally as a tutor! I also like to travel and see new places to eat. I’ve also recently gotten very acquainted with my local library.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
The thing I value as a masseuse (and in life) is clear communication. If there is something that I view or need from a client, I have no hesitation asking or making requests and I hope I can make clients feel as if they go the same for me. My job is yo make you feel good, so communicate what I can do and we can work from there. I am no mind reader!
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
Yes I remember my first client fondly! He was having some long days at work and was looking for an intimate massage. He would end up becoming a regular right before a big meeting or presentation and I like to think that I helped him succeed by allowing him to take his mind off of anything stressful in his life and show him that someone did care about his success and wanted him to succeed
