LloydEdward's Massage Interview
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
I remember having my first client and being so nervous that I got very stressed out. I had to ground myself and take some deep breaths and release the negative energy. I got a very positive feed back and that’s when I realized I was doing something I was going to enjoy.
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
I would not say it’s addictive at all. If it’s something you loved doing it will be something you are gonna miss when you stop.
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
No, i don’t consider my successful, but then my success is define by me not by those around me. I think I give a good massage, I’m outgoing and I have a sense of humor and that I think can maje me successful in itself.
Why did you become a Masseur?
Massage Therapy is something I have been wanting to do for a very long time. I finally was able to get the flexibility to take the class and do it. It was not as easy as I thought. The 12 months were definitely worth it!
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
I would love for them to leave relaxed, satisfied and with confidence they made the right choice choosing me as their massage therapist and with hopes they will return for another massage.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
I would like my clients to feel comfortable and relaxed around me so I would like for them to think that I’m very social, outgoing with a sense of humor and able to give a great massage.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
You have to want to do it because you love it first because that will show in your hands and personality before anything else. I do it because I enjoy it. This is a job that you have to love because you will have all kinds of experiences and your love for the job has to supersede any negative thoughts or experiences.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
Me, myself and I.... LOL kidding! I think that everybody is different and unique in their own way. I want to be different; it’s what makes me who I am. The ink in on my body alone distinguishes from everyone else.
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
Shop on line! LOL, watch tv and go to the gym. I stay home a lot and I enjoy it. As much as I love to be social, I prefer small gatherings over large ones. I still enjoy them from time to time, but I just can’t bounce back like I use to.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
I have been doing it for 2 years and will continue to do it as long as I find joy and fun doing it.
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I’m a homebody!
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
It’s not extensive it’s desire to want to learn. Some people can have all the knowledge they need to know about massage but if it doesn’t show in your hands and in you’re technique the knowledge will be limited. At the end of the day, your hands are the money makers so pressure, technique and body mechanics will define your success in this business.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
I want them to feel like they made the right choice in picking me and want them to feel like they want to come back.
