Lucio's Massage Interview
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
That was 4 years ago. I was nervous but I already practiced with some friends and they liked my hands. I didn't have any complains from that first client. But from then on I decided to watch tutorials and practice but now I am an esthetician and recently graduated masseur. I am so excited to start this new career.
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
Well I am planning to do it professionally for a long time so I will tell you the day I get retired.
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
I do since usually all my clients leave happy and satisfied.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
I want them to know that I will make them feel special and relaxed and forget about all their cares during my session and making them come back for more.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
I want them to feel happy and relaxed and I know that when they will come back for another session and become regular clients.
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
I like to see tutorials about different massage and facial techniques and the use of New machines applied to beauty and wellness. I also like to watch comedy shows and take dance lessons and Of course going to the gym to work out and take a TRX class or crossfit class. I love to read about Philosophy and Psychotherapy which will be my future career.
Why did you become a Masseur?
Because I love to improve and soothes people's skin and body thru massage and body and facial treatments. I genuinely enjoy giving massage and I love everything related to beauty and wellness. I like when they really appreciate when you do a good job. I feel accomplished when that happens.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
In this field a massage student should study and practice, be proactive and never stay inside their comfort zone and always strive to be the best. And above all, they should be attentive about their client's needs as much as they can. They will really appreciate if you have a good customer service and cater to their needs. And MEAN IT.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
I genuinely love what I do and I will always do my best to provide them with body relief, relaxation and emotional release. I have been told that I am a great pleasure boy.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
I have been doing this for about 10 years now and I don't know for how long. I always try to live in the moment. I don't know what the future holds for me.
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I am more of a homeboy but I am open to travel as long as I know the person, we both have chemistry and show trust to each other.
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
Absolutely. I think a good training is as important as experience. And It is always important to learn more and advance in your massage career.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
I want my clients to leave very satisfied and that I went above and beyond to cater for them and exceed their expectations.
