LuxTantra's Massage Interview
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I love to travel. I try to do at least one domestic trip and one international trip a year. Recent destinations include Berlin, Amsterdam, Ireland, China, and Spain.
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
While I think there’s a lot of value in training as it helps you to understand the body, there’s no substitute for hands-on experience.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
I hope they leave feeling relaxed and energized— and for tantra clients, that they experienced something beyond the ordinary.
Why did you become a Masseur?
I really enjoy the transpersonal connection. I started my somatic journey through neo-tantra and Body Electric and quickly realized that it was way more fulfilling than my “real” job.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
My practice is more holistic than a typical therapeutic massage; I want to create a connection for the duration of our session, and to give the an experience of unconditional love, however briefly.
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
I’m a photographer who enjoys portraiture, a scuba diver, a writer, and a seasonal snack fiend.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
Relaxed, energized, and blissful.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
My teacher taught me that there is one single rule to tantra that cannot be broken: you must be able to find something to love about your client, so that whatever actions you take during the session can be embodiments of pure love and devotion. It’s a heavy task, but one I take extremely seriously. My goal is to make you feel completely loved and supported throughout the session. But don’t worry— I’m not clingy and my discretion is absolute.
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
Absolutely. The ability to connect with people is so crucial to a good experience, and I find it incredibly nourishing to connect with my clients.
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
If I've managed to help one man be better connected to his body, that's success for me.
