ManhattansFinest's Massage Interview
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
Absolutely. All of my clients have been repeats. When i client gets up feeling completely renewed and ready to do it again, I've done my job, and well.
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
I'd say it can be. I get a lot of enjoyment out of my work. The high of putting someone in a spiritual state of nirvana can be overwhelming for some, for me it’s an extremely frequent natural occurance.
Why did you become a Masseur?
When i was young i discovered a gift of being able to talk to bodies with my hands. Having a life in fitness that gift became a necessity for myself friends and colleagues, so i decided to go full throttle into it and really make it happen.
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
Free time is Scarce, but i love to feed my body well, so I truly enjoy cooking.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
We all may have some sort of training, But i have the ability to speak to your body through my own.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
Like they made the best decision the could have, and know it. I want them to leave feeling like every inch of their body has been addressed and worked thoroughly. I pride myself in my work, and they will feel that.
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I love to travel! My schedule doesn't often allow it but I’d consider it a passion. Favorite places have been hands down Japan and Hawai’i! Well and Puerto Vallarta of course!
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
My honest advice would be don’t do it just for the money, you have to have the desire and heart and passion for it, to be successful.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
I don't necessarily think the training has to be extensive, but I do believe there should be some, and lots of experience. The body can be tricky, you need to know things you could be up against before you just applying random pressure. The body needs to be talked to, worked through and worked out. So, you should have SOME knowledge of that.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
For New clients, i love for them to get off the table in disbelief. Being truly wowed by the experience they had. I often hear, "That was the best massage I have ever had, and I've had plenty". Thats truly one of the highest compliments you can receive!
