ManlyHands's Massage Interview
Why did you become a Masseur?
I have always loved receiving massage. I also really love the power of touch. Touch can be therapeutic as well as relaxing, which is also really inspiring.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
I want my clients to feel rejuvenated.
I want them to feel like they are "inside" their bodies.
I want them to be inspired to take care of their bodies.
I want them to know that they deserve to be touched and should make massage a priority.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
I have a certain passion and sensuality that is instinctual (I am not sure this can be taught). Also, I love to be adventurous and try moves that seem relevant to the task at hand. After I give a massage, I am not depleted... I am inspired.
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
I love food... so any opportunity to try different kinds of food and I am game. I love to be healthy and fit, so if I can get out and go for a run, hike, or walk, that fills my bucket.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
I want my clients to feel rejuvenated.
I want them to feel like they are "inside" their bodies.
I want them to be inspired to take care of their bodies.
I want them to know that they deserve to be touched and should make massage a priority.
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I love to travel, as much as possible. If you want me to come to your area, let me know!
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
I remember my first client very well...
I was surprised and happy that the massage went so well. He reviewed me (on another website) and it was an awesome review...
I knew right there, that this is what I was meant to do...
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
I do.
I have had many men say "this was the best massage they have ever had" "best money, Ive ever spent" etc., it just measures me that I am doing the right line of work.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
I love working on you guys as much as you love receiving massage.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
Have a passion for massage.
Get training.
Get certified.
Say yes!
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
Absolutely. I love the adventure that is a massage. I love the connection and the sensuality. It is all so inspiring.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
I have been trained for 2 years and I hope to do this forever.
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
I say the more you are trained the better you can be. The broader your foundation of study and understating of anatomy and all the different modalities, the better...
