Masseur_Oral's Massage Interview
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
Yes I remember. I have a friend with a massage clinic and he offerd me to teach me so I could work there with him. After the lessons, we did a 4 hands massage for several days until I was confident to work alone. My first client was very polite, a Belgium man and I did a relaxing massage with medium intensity and in the end he asked me to make a prostate massage with lingan massage. He was so happy with my devotion that he still my client very often coming back to me or inviting me to fly to be with him. It is about 4 years already. So now I can say I turned into his "personal masseur" and friend.
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
Oh yes, I think it is. You know, we are living in very stressful days latelly. Too much work, too much pression, all the financial problems and the wars... so when the client give himself in the masseurs hands he is completely relaxed and counting on you to help him to run from all these daily stress. So, the masseur is very important for the physical but also the emotional relief. Of course I will miss. Giving pleasure is what moves my days. I love it.
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
If you think that after 4 years my first client still coming with me almost every month (only when we are in different countries is more difficult) and 90% of my clients become regular, I think is everything said.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
I dont really like to compare myself with others, specially when I dont know their work to talk about it. I offer my services without lying. I let the clients decide for themselves with their own feelings. I preffer this way - being always honest - because then only come with me people who are really wanting to be with me and try my way of working. Also if you didnt lie about anything, then you can have this first timer client becoming a regular client for what you are and for how you work. I preffer to have less clients with more quality and giving my best to all them, then lots of clients and make some of them unhappy with their decision... a tired masseur will never offer his best at certain point, so if I feel I am done that day, I politely refuse the work.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
That was money well spent and that I was even better than they expected...
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
Very often. I like to stay from 10 to 30 days in one city then move to another. After 90 days I go back to my home and give myself a 15 days break.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
Almost 5 years. I don't remember exactly when I started (the month and day). Wish to work for more 10 years or more.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
Once he decided to work with me, just let himself fly... I do explore all the places in his body (unless if he tells me that he doesn't like this or that). I am a guy who they can trust and I am not into drug or excess of alcohol. Not addicted to anything but giving pleasure... I'm someone you really can trust.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
I like when they feel that I was money well spent. Definitely.
Love when they hug me and leave saying they will come back and usually my clients do that. Thanks God!
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
We all needed to start from zero. With this afirmation I want to say that experience is important but more important is to really like what you do. Once you do it because you like, the experience will just increase your abilities and give you more confidence to reach a good level, a service of quality.
Why did you become a Masseur?
I like receiving massage then I realized that giving massage would be also good. is good to give others that good feeling I like to receive.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
Just enter in this business if you really like the idea of giving yourself to others. Massage (as nursing for instance) is about dedication, is about to offer your energy to someone else. In this profession as in any other the advice is the same: just do it if you like what you do, otherwise you will be just one more and certainly unhappy.
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
Hiking, travelling (love city tours, I can walk for hours), cinema, going out with close friends, staying at home watching a movie or talking with friends and family, going to the beach. I love sunbath...
