MattLAX's Massage Interview
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
I do consider myself to be a successful masseur because I customize each clients massage to their needs and desires.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
I want my clients to feel satisfied that their massage needs have been met. I always ask clients when they arrive if they have any special issues that I need to deal with or any special request.
Why did you become a Masseur?
I became a masseur 22 years ago after being a massage client for years,I know what I like and I wanted to share that. Mutual touch is important during a massage session and I welcome that connection.
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I like short 3 day road trips.California has so much to offer so I'd rather drive somewhere in Ca. I am home most of the time and I work late until 2am so clients know that I am available most of the time.
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
I would miss not being a masseur as after 22 years I like the connection between the client and myself.
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
I have a beautiful garden in my front yard and spend a lot of time working in it. I have a lemon tree out front and offer clients lemons.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
I listen to my clients needs and request and do my best to accommodate their request.
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
My first client was 22 years ago and it was an out call to a very nice mans home. The client lived in Hollywood Hills and had his own table, oils and the home was beautiful. I ended up spending 3 hours with the client and he remained a client for 17 years until he moved back east.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
I've been a masseur for 22 years and plan on massaging for another 5 years than retire. As long as I am healthy and strong enough to give a good massage I think my 5 year plan is good.
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
Extensive training is not necessary to be a good masseur. If you have a good connection with people and listen to their request, you'll be successful.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
You want your clients to be so satisfied that I look forward to their next session.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
I enjoy working nude and think mutual touch is important during the session to create a connection.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
I would tell a new masseur to have a space devoted to massage as ambience is important and ask each client what they're looking for in the massage session.
