MuscleLee's Personal Masseur Interview
Last Updated: Sep 24, 11:02

1
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?

- I travel a lot, go on adventures, explore new places, and countries, new foods, make new friends, and perform music. I am a classically trained violinist and pianist.

2
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?

- I love to travel. I travel quite often, and I love experiencing new places, new food, and new adventures.

3
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?

- I like them to feel happy that they contacted me. I like them to feel relief, like a breath of fresh air. I like them to feel relaxed, and ready to book the next session with me.

4
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?

- No, it is not. Know the body, understand how to work with people, care for the person you are working on and working with, and pay attention to the details.

5
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?

- I love to travel. I would travel full time if I could. I love to see new places and meet new people.

6
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?

- I have been doing massage here and there for about 20 years. But, more professionally for about 5 years now. I would like to continue as long as my hands and body allow me to.

7
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?

- I try and focus on each person and cater to their specific needs. I know and understand the body, and I understand muscles and injuries. I understand and have personally gone through many many years of chronic pain, and so I know how to focus on the body as not only a whole, but as individual units. I am a spiritual person, and I try and treat the entire process as more than just a rub down, but as an experience.

8
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?

- Find out what you like, when it comes to someone giving you a massage, and do it for others. And, if you don't like touching people....don't become a massage therapist haha.

9
Why did you become a Masseur?

- I had many injuries, mostly back injuries, when I was younger, as well as when I was older. Physical therapy and massage truly helped to bring my body back to somewhat normal. I wanted to help others as well.

10
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?

- I want them to feel relaxed, stress free, and overall just feeling great about the experience. I want my clients to be ready to book their next appointment with me every time they finish a massage.

11
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?

- Yes, absolutely. I aim to be and do my best in everything I do. I am not perfect, but I strive for excellence in every aspect of my life.

12
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?

- I would miss giving people comfort. I would miss giving others relief and joy. A good massage can be transformative, and that feeling I would absolutely miss.

13
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!

- I love to make people feel good. I feel good when I know I gave someone else pleasure. If my hands and my touch give someone relief, or help them recover from an injury, or take their mind off of everyday chaos, I know I did my job and did it well. The first time I gave a massage and the person melted into the table, relieving all their stress and their pain, I knew I wanted to give that to as many people as possible. Pain can change lives. Stress can change lives. To be able to relieve that, even if momentarily, it is the best feeling. To give someone comfort and the feeling that they can just let go, even for a moment in time, is magic.
