OwenGrey's Massage Interview
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
My first client is still regular and good friend! He was really sore after a hard workout. I gave him a really good 90min massage. He said that was his favorite massage ever so that's when I decided to fully become a masseur.
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
YES. very addictive and I love meeting new people. I wouldn't swap it for any other job! Like they say, best jobs are the ones you enjoy doing
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
Absolutely, I like to build a connection with my client and give as much value as possible.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
I would like my clients to know that I genuinely care about each and every one of them. Im very much down to earth and relaxed. I offer the upmost discreation
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
All my clients leave happy, relaxed, satisfied and get more than expected! I do not exaggerate anything, I truly enjoy meeting my clients and making sure they have the best experience possible!
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
I am also a personal trainer, so I love to workout!
Why did you become a Masseur?
Because of my athletic career I always had very soft, strong hands and since a kid I would massage my parents and they would love it. Then my friends, people I dated, my fitness clients and eventually it lead me to become an official masseur
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
Just be yourself, make sure you have a great personality because having a great personality and making your clients happy and relaxed beats your masseur skills any day of the week!
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
I do not force anything or display an exaggerated image of myself. I am all natural, genuine and I mean it when I say that I really care about all my clients. I do not want anyone to feel like this is a "service", I make everyone feel like we've known each other for a while and make everyone comfortable. I become friends with most of my clients
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
5 years I dont see an end anytime near
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
Often stay at home but travel occasionally
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
Good and continuous training is important for sure, or even getting tips by other masseurs from online courses. But it's not enough just having good massage skills, you need to truly have a great personality, have good social skills and make sure all your clients are treated with respect
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
I make all my clients feel like they've known me when we first meet. Some are a bit shy but by the end of the massage everyone leaves happy, satisfied beyond what they expected and excited to see me again There is nothing more satisfying than pleasing my clients and making sure we establish a great bond during our time.
