PDXConnective's Massage Interview
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
It's absolutely true. Whenever I take a day or two off, I feel less centered. Massage definitely benefits my state of mind as much as the client's.
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
I do. I'd say about half of my new clients become regular ones, which must mean I'm doing something right!
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
Like they've just taken a 90 minute vacation into an ethereal sanctuary. There's no better feeling than watching a client -- whose shoulders were at his ears on arrival -- walk out the door with a noticeably different posture and demeanor.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
I provide more than just kinesthetic relaxation. I connect with the body and the mind by creating a nurturing environment, where clients can be open, heard and understood.
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
Anything outdoors. I love camping and being on the water, especially. A jam session with good friends and whiskey sounds like an ideal night. Beyond that, teaching myself new cooking skills, improving my pool game, and watching classic movies.
