Seductivetouch's Massage Interview
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
I want my clients to feel relaxed and to leave with the anticipation for the next visit.
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I love to travel. I have visited Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Mexico, most of the US, Europe, many Caribbean Islands and Canada.
Why did you become a Masseur?
To make a difference in the lives of people. I recently relocated to the Montreal area and have many Sherbrooke clients that will follow.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
I had professional training in different massage techniques and esthetics. (Depilatory)
I work by instinct, not a routine as each client has different needs. My massage pressure starts off gentle with a firmer progression to deeper strokes. I developed and offer a massage technique called *nurturing-health, close contact massage on a floor mat and with lots of pillows: Nurturing in a loving and gentle environment. A body scrub is included proir to nurturing-health floor session.
*May awaken unforseen emotions.
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
Travel is a passion! Meeting people from different cultures, sharing stories is very enrichiching. Design, gardening, cooking, working out and biking is things I enjoy doing.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
I have 20 years under my belt and will continue until I physically no longer can.
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
Training is important, formal or mentor training gives you basic tools and confidence to give a good massage. Training does not give you intuition, kindness and impeccable customer service skills that are vital to building a successful clientele. Combined, is the key to customer retention.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
Kindness goes a long way. I treat every client like I wish to be treated.
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
Yup!
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
On cloud nine!
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
90% of clients are looking for a outstanding massage, first and foremost. The other 10% like a buffet, You will see them once in a while because they shop from one masseur to another.
Your massage skills will outlive your hot body.
Invest well in your work space, live a bit poor when business is good cause rainy days do come.
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
Maybe not the first but the first few clients. I had a few that were very loyal seeing them on a bi-weekly or monthly basis.
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
Addiction is something that controls a person. I love what I do but I go with the client flow. I have full life consisting of friends, family and hobbies. I accommodate clients as best I can. I seldom change my plans to take a last minute client or do I cancel a client to take another client.
Always a wise thing to book appointments in advance if you can, your masseur will be better prepared and much more relaxed.
20 years and still serving, I think I will always be involved in some shape or form in this industry.
