ThePlayground's Massage Interview
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
My first clients were my friends who always begged me for neck and shoulder rubs. All of my friends said the same thing...
"You should go to school and do this professionally. You've got AWESOME hands."
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
I took my friends advice and enrolled at - The Massage School Of Santa Monica - when I was 21 and have done massage on and off all my adult life.
I am on my 4th Massage table. I'm just getting back into massage again after a long hiatus. So the answer is yes. I do miss it when I'm not doing it.
The gift of touch is a nice way to be of service to humanity.
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
Very Successful!
Let's just say my hands have served more than McDonalds.
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I'm a love being home writing & recording music, making art, reading, surfing youtube and learning stuff, watching documentaries, taking naps & drinking coffee.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
COMPLETELY relaxed and satisfied.
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
I feel the more you train and the more you study and learn as a masseur or anything in life the more you have to offer and bring to the table.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
I've done bodywork on and off for 25+ years.
I have no plans on stopping...
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
Being professional, the thoroughness of my massage, my years of experience & hospitality.
I've been to many masseurs over the years that just didn't have a clue of what they where doing.
Not only as a masseur, but being a good host to their client. They did not have a glass of water
poured and waiting when I arrived or simply didn't offered me anything to drink. Their house was ***** and messy.
The towels and sheet they were using were not fresh. They were playing rock music that was too loud and and they talked during the massage.
Don't get me wrong, talking is fine. If the client talks, talk. Follow your clients energy and lead. If they aren't talking, then don't.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
Just Do It!
