TheReal_LMT's Personal Masseur InterviewLast Updated: Apr 24, 2022
- I love them to feel lighter than when we first started. Like a loads been lifted for even just a few hours from the hustle and bustle of their busy lives.
- It certainly helps! But I don't think it's the only way to be successful. Experience definitely plays into it. As well as your ability to sync with people and read their needs while you're working on them.
- I don't travel as often as I would like to. But when I'm home I try and get out of the house as often as possible. Whether its errands, the gym or even just sitting at the park for a few hours taking in the fresh air.
- A little over 7 years and I don't see why another 7 is out of the question.
- I think I'm really good at making my clients feel like we've been friends for a long time which relaxes them before we even get to the table. It's the first hurdle in getting them ready to relax and take a load off while being worked on.
- Go for it! And take care of your body! There is a way to massage that takes a lot of pressure off your own body which will keep you in the biz for the long run. Learn what works for you. Also there's no right or wrong way to massage. Come up with your own flow, test it on people and go out there and rub down the world!
- I love connecting with people in a manner that's more than just verbal. Massaging is such an intimate form of connection and I can't get enough of it.
- I workout 5 days a week. I draw and illustrate when I can. I tried to teach myself 2D animation when I have the time. I help with an animal rescue as well. Big dog guy here. And I enjoy baking.
- Valued, heard, appreciated. I try my best to get back to everyone who sends me a message about booking or possibly booking. And regardless of how the conversation goes (and whether they book or not) I make sure that they know that I've valued their time and how much I appreciate them reaching out in the first place.
- This is a weird one but I always warn clients before I start that my body is like a glow stick. My wrists, fingers and various parts of my arms tend to crack mid session and I always get a little giggle out of it.
- It would be weird if I didn't I think. I'd be discouraged. But based on reviews and return clients I think I've been pretty successful and very fortunate.
- I would miss the connection you get to build with some clients. Sometimes you just click with another person and the massage becomes a bit more personal. Depending on the level of massage you and your client can be in your most vulnerable state so the bonding that comes from that I think I would miss more than anything.
- You always remember your first client don't you? I could't have asked for a better first though. I think he could tell I was letting my nerves get the best of me and after a couple of minutes of warming up the tissue and a few words of praise and the right kind of moans I think I sunk into a routine. It's very therapeutic, mentally, for me to get lost in the flow and have the client on the receiving end also get lost in relaxation. I always consider it a win/win situation.
