TheRiteTouch's Massage Interview
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
my first client was just as therapeutic for me as it was for them. There’s way more to a massage then the manipulation of muscle tissue. In order to genuinely create a total mind, body, spirit, experience I have always been able to sense energy and emotion unique to each client and I use my intuitive healing touch to balance out that spirit to truly transform. By using my 6th sense so to speak, Hi balance out their experience as well as my own. If you don’t use what you’ve been blessed with it can affect you negatively, I feel just as relaxed and cleansed and whole for having provided them with what they need.
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
Most definitely. One of my teachers told me she could see my dance training and my passionate approach to the art of massage in every part of the session. Just like if someone told me I would never be able to dance again it would devastate me, and being a masseur is part of my true being
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
Yes. I have had many clients who have overcome their aches, their physical issues, as well as emotional ones. I’ve never had a client leave my session and not feel rejuvenated renewed and completely at peace. Some people say that it sounds crazy but I’ve had people tell me I’ve changed their life. By giving them the proper touch and energy they need it and they a lot of times don’t get from anyone else
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
I am 100% passionate about creativity and leaving ourselves open to receive whatever the universe has to give us. I take that approach with massage with my music with my dancing and with my relationships with my children and family and friends. It’s all about Energy transfer and your own sense of spirit
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
I sense of wholeness, a true feeling of inner peace and like a complete Bowl of spaghetti. That means I’ve made them feel secure relaxed and I’ve gotten rid of all tension
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
Dance, sing, play trumpet, design anything artistic, hike, cook, camp, And meditate
Why did you become a Masseur?
The very first inspiration that I received was after my mother had been diagnosed with cancer and had gone through two years of basically physical hell. She did not come from a financially comfortable background and have never had a massage or any type of spa treatment and I gave her a complete spa package for Mother’s Day the last she had. And when she came out of that spa she looked me dead in the eyes and said that she has not felt better with all the procedures and medications and hassle that the doctors and nurses had put her through this one massage and mud bath and energy treatment had made her feel more whole and alive. That’s when I knew there was something there that I wanted to be a part of
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
Do it for the right reason. Don’t do it because you think it’s going to be a quick easy career go through school and you make decent money. And don’t do it because you think you’re going to get some kind of self-centered pleasure out of it. Do it because you have a sense of healing and a sense of caring and a belief in whole body Experiences for health
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
I truly believe that not only do I have the education and knowledge of the human body but I also have something you can’t be taught. There is an energy and spirit and a special touch within me that creates something more than just a physical pleasure.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
I have now been doing the Art of massage for eight years. And I will continue to do it until I physically am unable to move. I see Massage has something that should live with in our life cycle and whether it’s a cuddling touch with a loved one, a caring treatment of an injury or that sensual euphoria with a partner, Massage will forever continue to be part of my life
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
I believe in order to be truly successful the knowledge and understanding of the boshyes skeletal system and muscular sure is a must for true therapeutic sessions. I think as a masseur you should also keep yourself not only informed but in touch with new and different aspects of this art form. Being able to experience and learn from different cultures because eastern and western Massage are very different because our beliefs in our physical bodies and our spirituality are different. You can never go wrong by continuing to broaden your horizons
