Thebestoutcall's Massage Interview
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
Yes his name was Kirk. I actually answered an ad in the paper to be a personal trainer, and ended up doing massage instead, stumbled on it. Very strange and interesting story. Ask me about it during a massage....
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
Yes something about it is for sure. I love going different places and meeting different people, however wouldn't miss the before I meet you emails, texts, phone calls, and advertising. However in the end it's definitely all worth it to me.
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
Absolutely, there are times in my life where I have solely thrived on this biz, for sure.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
I love helping others feel amazing and helping people reach their health and fitness goals. I am a go with the flow kind of guy and very intuitive. Once I touch you I will know your body better then you.I am open, honest, warm, caring and good conversation if you desire. 😉
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
I want you to feel amazing, translike state, very calm, relaxed plus euphoric, and I want you to still feel the touch after I'm gone. If you had knots, now they are gone.😁
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
Workout,cars,fine dining,travel,exploring...
Why did you become a Masseur?
I have a gift of working with people one on one and healing hands. Plus, passion, and knowledge of the body in respect of changing and healing. I am like a new age doctor or rather someone to help you avoid the doctor.Im the apple a day.😁
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
It's a lot more challenging and competitive each year that goes by.It is an oncall serious fulltime job if you want to succeed. The business is up-and down, however if you really love helping people relax and feel better then your heart is in the right place and you will be amazing for sure. If you just think it's a get rich quick scenario, or easy money, then you are in for a rude awakening. You also need to learn how to screen clients,a talent that can take years to develop. You are the marketer, saleman, secretary, tec guy, screener, security, driver, counselor, follow up,and lastly masseur. It a real job,a real as it gets, but it is also a blast!😎
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
My knowledge of the body, not just from a massage standpoint ,but also from a personal training, nutrition, and supplemental aspect. All of which are fields I am certified and have worked in for many, many years. I have a very comprehensive education,as well as a naturally intuitive understanding and passion for the body.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
Over ten years and I would like to continue until I can't. Each year I see new things,I meet new people,I grow, adapt to the rapidly changing atmosphere of the massage world, and I learn cool new things. Why would I ever want to stop!?
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I love traveling, I am not an incall type of guy. I absolutely like travel. For me going somewhere, anywhere even if it's just a street,I've never been down is always a welcomed adventure. In a sense I'd say I travel almost every day. I like it so much that at one point in time I would charge more for an incall then an outcall just so I could get out of the house and go somewhere! Haha lol ,of course I learned this is not the best economic decision. 😜
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
No a passion and love for helping and healing is the key.Without that passion you will not be a success. It will just become another 9-5 boring job.You have to love it.That will drive you to get the training, but also to want to continue and learn way beyond what a piece of paper can deliver.Plus nothing can teach you even half of what you need to know to be successful at this, except years of experience and even then you still learn new tricks. This job put in this scenario is a unique situation of which only someone like me or years of experience can teach. You can't go to a school to learn everything you need for this job.Just massage school, which at best is less then half of what this job entails.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
I want them to feel the way that they want to feel. For example, if the client says I want this pain in my shoulder to go then I make it go,and if the client says I want to relax then I will put them in a translike state, and if the client says ect.... You get the picture, go with the flow and make the client happy 🤗
