Tomasseur's Massage Interview
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
Surely I remember the first person who allowed me the confidence and assurance to become a masseur and assist others in their bodily pain, tension, trauma, or simple difficulties. That first client praised my personality and hand craft and continued to be a regular client.
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
Becoming a Masseur and continuing in the field can be addictive because the experience you encounter is both exciting and daring. I love what I do and can't do it forever but these moments are ones I'll carry forever.
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
Not completely successful, but becoming so, yes. I'm getting more consistency with clientele, but would love more regulars and knowing my customer satisfaction/income is when I'd consider myself successful.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
That I'm not money hungry or shallow in any regard, I'm very smart but hold a more personable and enlightening personality that anyone would love once you meet me. Our sessions aren't just business, but they're intimate and comforting.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
I want them to feel complete, secure, and refreshed. They are secure and safe to confide and become vulnerable with me because my goal is to care for and value my clients.
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
I'm an active and aspiring singer-songwriter, pianist and model that loves their craft and continues to network and pursue until I break into the industry. I also love to go out for drinks with friends, eat eat and eat, venturing to cute little mom and pop shops in historic districts, and be spontaneous.
Why did you become a Masseur?
I love adventure, people and personal connection/healing and with massage work you get to combine the three and become more than a pair of hands but refuge for those needing a release from their own reality.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
Educate yourself and train, know what you're doing and get to know people so you're prepared for most personalities and situations.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
I'm not money hungry nor do I hound my clients, I"m a friendly and open soul and love to please and see my clients satisfied. Your pleasure is mine.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
I've been a masseur for over a year, and have gained such experience to not only satisfied but over achieve in my sessions. I believe I'll be working as a Masseur for a couple more years.
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I love to travel and don't mind out of state/country trips but there's nothing like the comfort of your own home.
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
Yes, you must know massage technique, oil types/benefits for the skin depending on the client, versatile in your work to be ready for most clients, educate yourself on the human anatomy to secure your talents in being a masseur.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
Comfortable, secure, and happy.
