TotalTranquility's Massage Interview
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
Other than the people we massaged in school, my first paying client was a lady. She is a friend of the family, and had never had a massage before. She was nervous, but told me that she relaxed quickly. She loved the massage and has been back many times. My aunt is a massage therapist and went to the same massage school I went to. She was the one who told me that I would be great at doing this, and encouraged me to do so.
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
I would not say it's "addictive", however in my experience, it can be beneficial to the therapist if done properly. I have found that I feel better after giving a massage, however, negative energy is transferred to me when I use Reiki. I have learned how to remove it my clients and I.
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
Massage therapy is not something people think of in regards to gaining wealth. As far as honing my skills, enjoying what I do, I feel I have been and continue to be successful.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
I am a nice easy going spiritual person.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
Like they just got the best massage experiance, and that I helped and addressed any issues they were having.
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
I like gardening, yoga, meditation, snuggling with my dog and just enjoying life.
Why did you become a Masseur?
My aunt became a massage therapist, and I massaged her one time. She told me that I was very good, and that I should get my license.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
You must not be looking to do it for the money, it must be something you have a desire to do.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
I wouldn't say "all", but I have Large strong hands, I have a lot of experiance, I love what I do, my studio is better than most, my rate is highly competitive, nothing is ever timed or rushed. I have been told that I give the best massage around, and some have stated that it was the best they have ever had.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
I have always gravitated towards spiritual healing. My journey into the physical therapeutic aspect of healing started in the 90s, and has been honed ever since. I will do it until my energy leaves this vessel and returns to the universe.
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
Homebody
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
