TouchOfCaramel's Massage Interview
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
I strive to ensure that anyone who contacts me for a massage will feel blissfully at ease when they leave. Releasing tension in the body to rejuvenate the soul is always the goal. I also want them to feel that areas in which they indicate need more focus, were given the extra attention and care needed to help them going forward.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
My hope is that clients feel as though the experience altogether was a journey that showed them an explosive wave of elation.
Why did you become a Masseur?
I chose to venture into the industry when I saw the profound impact my massages had on some of the other soldiers I trained with during my time in service. Their encouragement along with a relentless demand for help with their neck, shoulders, and backs, helped to give me the confidence to try making this more than a hobby.
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
Since my departure from the military I've chosen to persue my passion for music. Love to sing and I DJ throughout WA. I also have an intense passion for culinary arts and have been thoroughly enjoying discovering new styles of cuisine. Another favorite of mine is dance, as helps to keep actively in shape and depending on the style, it can be quite intimate.
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
I believe that when the day comes where I no longer practice in the industry I will indeed feel a sense of longing for it. However, I acknowledge that as the years progress, I will have an upscale of discomfort to endure. So while i may not be someone giving the massage, I still intend to remain in the industry, even if that means simply being a client.
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I have had the opportunity to travel all over the globe, There are still many places on my bucket list, but nothing beats enjoying the comfort of a space you designed and put your energy into
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
I've been doing massage therapy work for about 6 years now and i see myself keeping up with it for at least another 10+!
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
I measure success based on how the client feels at the conclusion of the session. I've generally gotten wonderful feedback so i take that as a good sign.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
I LOVE music with every part of my being. It legitimately saved my life. I'm a survivor of ***ual assault both by an individual and group. Those experiences, combined with body dysmorphia given to me by the military severely impacted my health in all aspects. Music was something that kept me from doing things I'd regret and became a tool for me to channel all that negativity and turn it into something beautiful. I sing to soothe my soul and on some level connect with the emotion that the song intended to convey. I believe that everyone is deserving of love, those that feel as though they are alone and trapped in darkness should know that hope can always be found in the darkest of places if one only remembers to turn on the light. I've seen the the power that something as small as a genuine smile and conversation has, both as someone that gave the smile and someone who desperately needed it. If there is one thing I want my clients to know, it's that even if I'm hurting I will put forth my best effort to always have a warm smile 😇😊🥰.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
Going into this field with money being your only objective is the worst thing you can do. Massage therapy is a tranfer of energy no matter what kind of method/technique/style you use. Your intent is the thing that matters. If the intent isn't to help, you can end up doing more harm than good in the long run.
