TouchedbyBryant's Massage Interview
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
My first client was just as nervous as I was. On the first day I advertised,I booked a client. Although I was nervous, I was up for the challenge. Our initial conversation last quite some time because we both wanted to be on the same page. I am happy that I took the time out to fulfill his requests because it set up my standard of providing quality customer service for every inquiry and/or booked client.
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
I believe everyone yearns to be touched. A simple hug can release a multitude of positive emotions and have a lasting effect. I would surely miss my masseur days because as much as the session benefits the client, it also keeps me in a grounded, loving state.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
I would like for my clients to feel refreshed, invigorated and ready to take on life. I want your time on my table to be spent forgetting your troubles and burdens by imagining all the good life has to offer. If you relax and let me do the work, you will realize how wonderful it is to be catered to.
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
I love to travel. I also enjoy doing improv and stand up comedy. Right now I am in the process of learning Spanish and would eventually like to learn American Sign Language so if any potential clients out there know either, we should chat!
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
I am personable and client centered. I return phone calls/texts/emails in a timely fashion and try my best to meet the client where he is at. I check in during the massage to make sure you are comfortable and the pressure is right. Your time is your time so you won't hear my phone ring or find me checking messages for potential new clients while you are in my presence.
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
I consider myself to be a work in process. I am confident in my massage but always striving to improve through continuing education courses and seminars. I believe in order to be successful you must first see this as a business. Lots of people can give a great massage but what about their personality, customer service and their commitment to what they do?
Why did you become a Masseur?
I became a masseur because I enjoy meeting new people and I like the one on one experience of helping others. The tranquility of a massage with soothing music and candlelight brings me peace and solitude while helping my clients to relax and let go.
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
Yes, the more you know, the more people you can serve. It also varies your day if you know more than one style of massage or have certificates in specialized modalities.
