Touchofchocolate's Massage Interview
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
Plan to always be a masseur even if not full time. I have put many years into developing my skills and to not practice it will mean losing a good portion of it as well as developed stamina.
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
Mt first client was a female gymnast who was referred to me and was more developed than a lot of males I have worked on since then, haa haa.
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
Yes I do. I have developed several dozen markets coast to coast and spend about a third of the year traveling for work, which I enjoy very much.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
I believe no matter how good you are at something, you can always get better. There is always room for improvement. So I constantly strive to improve my work and develop new techniques to add to my already extensive repertoire of techniques!
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
Extremely relaxed and stress free like weights of stress has been lifted off their shoulders!
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
Weight training, lots of different sports. Hiking, biking, camping and outdoor activities when the weather permits.
Why did you become a Masseur?
Because I love bodywork and wanted to learn techniques I could use on myself as well whenever I needed bodywork. Also It was a great means to have a secondary self employed business that complements my primary business as a private personal trainer.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
Study study study...learn learn learn...practice practice practice!
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
You will have to EXPERIENCE my work to understand that!
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
9 years and plan to always do massage in one way or another
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I travel often and enjoy traveling as well as being at home. No place like home!
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
I would say so but only so much you can be trained for. A certain aspect of being a great body worker cannot be taught ...the INTUITIVE aspect...this is INNATE!
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
That would depend on the client. In my many years of massage therapy, I have come to find that some clients can have UNREALISTIC expectations ..for ex, it's a massage session, NOT A DATE, LOL, For the normal client, I would like them to feel great, relaxed and feel good about the experience they just had and look forward to repeating it!
