TylerJordanRubs's Massage Interview
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
I absolutely remember my first client! He was the sweetest, gentle being. He came to me because I talked about the necessity of men experiencing the feeling of touch from another man. He was intrigued, he identifies as straight, is married to a lovely woman (we've actually met). After our first session he expressed a weight had been lifted from him. I occasionally still see him for our "guy time" as he calls it.
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
Creating a healing experience for my clients is something I definitely miss on my days off. I took a sabbatical due to covid, and I've missed my clients every day.
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
Absolutely, due to my commitment to creating the best possible experience for my clients. For me, its about the client and the abundance received for my services is an added bonus.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
lighter, relaxed, at peace. That they were authentically seen and tended to in every way. That they are now ready to face the world renewed and knowing they can always return for another session.
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
I think training and continuing education is essential to being a continued success in this field. I always aim to keep learning more and new techniques/modalities. Gotta keep it fresh
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
I want my clients to feel excited about returning for another session. Welcomed, invited to return. I like my clients to feel safe and secure, free and relaxed. Bright with a smile that others will notice.
Why did you become a Masseur?
To share the gift of touch that was bestowed upon me. Of course, I'm not the only one but one of many that has heard the calling to touch others in a healing way.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
My goal is not only to tend to the physical body, but the emotional, mental and spiritual body as well. And at then end of my sessions there is a meditative portion that assists in calling all the parts home.
