UnityBodyWork's Massage Interview
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
Actually the job was offered to me! On a slow day at work, I was giving a coworker sitting on a bar stool a back rub to pass the time and he offered to pay me to do an hour out-call that evening.
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
Yes. I have to give at least 2 or 3 massages a week to feel optimally happy. After that it's more work but I love what I do and helping people.
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
Every week I have a booked schedule is a success. Every happy customer is a success. The flexibility of hours being a masseur has been really good for my life.
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
I'm an acrobat, meaning I can balance and do things on my hands and master my body weight in ways that don't seem possible. I love to walk in nature, I lift weights to stay in shape and go to dance music festivals and raves, it's quite the juxtaposition from the chill profession of massage. I'm also a Master Candidate at the ancient Chinese board game called Go, so that's my Intellectual training routine.
Why did you become a Masseur?
My former partner strongly encouraged me after realizing how good I was at it.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
I've been a masseur since 2014. I'd like to continue giving massage full-time for the next several years. And even after I've retired I can still see myself finding time to give 1-2 massages per week to my most favorite customers with the strongest longest relationships. There would be no reason to stop completely even if I were financially independent.
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I prefer to travel, I love seeing new neighborhoods, hotels and scenery.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
I have a degree in Electrical Engineering
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
Stronger, more Stamina for deep pressure, better looking, able to converse well on a variety of topics, caring my client feels better afterwards, value added niche knowledge to share.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
Don't compete against me, You'll lose.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
Like they hit the jackpot.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
Happy they chose me and looking forward to how well they will sleep and their next appointment with me.
