bigbadwolfFTL's Massage Interview
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
I have a degree in exercise science from Florida State University. I am applying to PA school. I am certified as a personal trainer with NASM. I am certified as an HIV testing counselor. I can help you with stress, muscle soreness, physical fitness, strength and endurance training.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
I have been massaging since 2011, I really enjoy giving massages. It’s something I will always do
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
Relaxed and refreshed. I stretch all my clients and make sure I give them my undivided attention
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
No, because anyone can be highly trained or qualified but that doesn’t mean they are good at what they do. For instance, lawyers, doctors, restaurant owners, politicians, etc. You have to have a passion and be born with a natural gift. I believe I know how people want and need to be touched
Why did you become a Masseur?
Because I enjoy giving massages and making people feel better mentally physically and spiritually
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
I want them to enjoy it and come back and see me again. Leave them feeling addicted to my touch
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
I enjoy working out, traveling, shooting pool, dancing, fine dining. I like adventure and extreme sports as well
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
I treat you like a person not a number. Most of my clients will open up to me and feel content the moment we meet. I have a nurturing caring touch. I’m also in the medical field and knowledgeable.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
Do not discriminate. Everyone needs a massage. You will gain more experience with a diverse clientele base
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I try to travel out of the US at least one time each year since 2015. I usually travel at least twice domestically each year.
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
Yes. I have mastered both the therapeutic and sensual aspects of massage. I know how to make the client feel like they are being cared for by a knowledgeable and compassionate professional.
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
Massage is an important part of my life. If I were to stop I would definitely miss doing it.
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
Yes, it was an straight gentleman in his 40s who I met at the gym. He had seen me multiple times there and we struck up a conversation about sports. He mentioned he had an injury playing sports and was wondering if I had any advice or could possibly help him. I told him I could stretch and massage him. The first time he enjoyed the shoulder and back massage so much he asked if could massage his entire body next time. I still keep in touch with him and see him when I visit Orlando.
