cthreeee's Massage Interview
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
I love to hike and spend time outdoors. camp, fish..spend time with my two dogs. keeps me active and feeling good. I also love to cook and take hot showers, yoga and Pilates. Meditation. My daily practice is very important!
Why did you become a Masseur?
I’m a physical therapist with a degree in kinesiology so anatomy has always been my strong point. along with my love of making people feel great, masseur was a natural role for me.
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I love to travel. I have done quite a bit of traveling in my 35 years. I love new foods and languages. I think traveling and understanding our worlds diversity is important. that being said, I also love the home I have created. it is my safe space and I do spend a lot of time at home.
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
I believe the training is just a small fraction of what makes a great therapist. the experience and skills you attain with it are the keys to success. along with having empathy and compassion.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
I love when my clients are able to move freely without pain after our sessions. I love helping increase my clients quality of life in a physical aspect. when my clients leave my table and can face the world with fewer limitations, I know I have done my job well.
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
I still see my first client. Almost monthly in fact! Because he lives an hour away, weekly isn’t an option. This gentleman who is 20 years my age has taught me so much throughout the years, I couldn’t be more grateful. I love listening to him talk and putting his words of advice to practice. In return for his wisdom, I make sure his body stays in top shape. A very fair return in my opinion!
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
absolutely! although I believe my definition of success may differ from the norm. my clients leave our sessions feeling renewed. maybe in less pain, maybe less tension, a weight lifted, but always renewed. always refreshed and relaxed. always with a smile on their face. to me, that is success.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
I have been a masseur for over 12 years and I have been a healer my whole life. it comes very naturally to me and that’s just how it is. there’s no changing it. I can either use the knowledge or not. I choose to use it to help as many people as I can. that means I will continue to be a healer for the rest of my life. I can’t imagine doing anything else.
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
I absolutely would miss the connection that comes with being a bodyworker. You get to know the person on your table in an in depth, very personal way. That’s a lot of responsibility.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
My dad taught me as a young guy about Integrity. He was huge on the belief that integrity was all a man has at the end of the day. I carry that belief with me everyday, in everything I do.
