healinghands_PD's Massage Interview
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
Deeply relaxed, centered, lighter
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
Hiking, yoga, walking, cardio, drawing, reading
Why did you become a Masseur?
I felt I had the power to be a conduit for healing and could offer that to my clients
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
School, practice, talk to other masseurs, get massages from different people, different techniques, different styles
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
My first clients would receive 3 hour massages because I hadn’t learned timing yet. I was absorbed in the technique and lost track of time!
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
I have missed it when I’ve taken breaks before, massage is beneficial to my clients as well as myself, it’s an exchange of energy, of relaxation and stress.
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
My clients enjoy my service and that’s the most important part for me.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
I believe that love is the strongest energy there is. Without it we are empty. I’ve learned in this life that to give and receive love of the utmost importance.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
I think we all have something special to offer clients. I’m deeply caring and attuned to feel what clients need.
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I love travel. I don’t get to travel as much as I’d like or as much as I have in the past. I enjoy exploring and learning when I travel. Sun & sand is nice too!
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
A good foundation is required unless someone has a natural talent. It’s important to understand the body, muscles, bones, joints. And practice
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
Relaxed, lighter, stress free, calm
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
I went to school for massage in San Francisco in the late 90s and have been practicing on and off since. I expect to continue my massage business and learn new methods to improve the healing experience for my clients.
