iwomboldt's Massage Interview
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
The first time I knew I wanted to be a Bodyworker, I was getting a massage from an amazing guy, and I knew I wanted to do this for friends at least, as I started that they always chastised me for not charging, and most said it was great. It felt useful and helpful to give this to men in need of relief. It's a great way to meet fascinating men and the diversity of needs was amazing.
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
this is the first time I had put my work on an online app before it was just word of mouth, I am very glad I used this app as it has increased my workload wonderfully. I have no hang-ups around age, size, etc., race, etc. I just like being useful, just as I felt when I was involved in the medical field. So the long story short is, yes I feel successful, and glad of it.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
I want them to float out the door, I want them to feel like it was worth every minute and penny, I want them to feel peaceful and relaxed and cherished.
Many men are not getting touched enough during this Covid lockdown and I think we all need to be touched more often. Men are great, and we all deserve to be cherished and touched! I want them to feel thankful and that is the best reward for me.
Why did you become a Masseur?
15 years ago I started massage on my friends and I have always seen a lot of bodyworkers so I know and appreciate the amount of work that goes into making it a successful endeavor, it was my friends that encouraged me to charge, so here I am and I am grateful to all my clients and hope they get as much joy from our meeting as possible, because really if I am not giving them my all, I am not connected to my purpose in meaning it this life.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
I have many alacrities, and I am very service-oriented; I work hard to please, and it is important to spread the joy of bodywork to others, and many of us are rather chronically in pain. We all need to great care of ourselves especially now.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
Until my hands and body tell me enough.
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
I would think that the more training one always gets is a great thing. I leaner a lot of every bodyworker I have met!
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
cycling and weight training though that has become harder to do the busier I get. I also like to garden and juice Ginger, Tumeric root, with lemon juice, coconut water, and cayenne and black pepper to upregulate the bioavailability of the Tumeric and lime zest to pick up the flavor. I sell 16 oz bottle for 10.00 and 32 oz bottles for 20.00 so there are 16 shots you can add to water in the small bottle and 32 oz shots with this bottle, I put a lot of joy into making this, again my friends told me I had to start charging for this. juicing the Tumeric root is completely different than trying to use the powder which I do not like at all, the juiced root is so much better and so good for our inflammatory issues, these are my hobbies, I also make a Tru Blood version where I juice beets into the mix, the first I call Ginger Binger juice and the other my neighbor donned the Tru Blood version has the beets of course
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I do not mind traveling at all, I kind of prefer, I have a roommate that works during the day so I can assure clients during the day of privacy and travel nights, I enjoy getting out and driving with my windows down at night in our beautiful desert paradise.
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
It should be, our regular practice for full body health and function.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
I want them to float out of here, and I want them to get the relief so many of us desperately require, especially after this last year of great disruption to our lives and increased fear and anxiety.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
Do the best job every time. be open to learning all the time and ask for feedback from your clients, this is the most useful to your practice.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
That I really need to be connected to my meaning and purpose and to be of service to our community and the great men in it. I like to feel like I am useful. That's much bigger than it sounds. being of service to our World and our community is important.
