still Sloppy Joe
Please don't be confused by my recent change in screenname. I'm still a Sloppy ol' Joe. And this new username is very intentional. If you don't know it, please be sure to look up the word. (It's not the chemical one might read at first glance. It's a different one.)
The engine is running again, both literally and figuratively. I am really enjoying Texas and all its different parts. Oklahoma, I'm sorry I couldn't stay longer.
Travels brought to a halt.
I've been traveling the country since December. I suppose that's why I've been too busy to write anything up on here. I made it all the way from my home in Utah, to where i broke my ankle in Florida.
Although I've fully recovered from my injury, my pocketbook has not. So here i am in central Texas. I can't afford to leave. I can't afford to get a hotel room. And I'm struggling with my confidence in seeing clients for outpatient sessions.
I'll probably shift out of this sad mindset as soon as tonight. But there are days when it seems like it's all just too much for me to bear. Maybe it's just time for bed.? (It's only 8:00, on the Friday night of a holiday weekend. 8=====D~
2020, the year of the blindside
I have no idea what to write, but I see that it's approaching a year since I posted in this blog. So I'd best say hello.
Man, what a crappy, sad year it's been! I am so done with all the anxiety of it. How about you?
Hit me up, anytime. Let's chat.

Seattle 2.0 - or 2.5?. (2nd visit, for 2½ weeks.)
I can't believe I'll be back in the Seattle area in just twelve short days now. I'm staying in Bellevue October 15-19. Then I'll take about a week total down in Oregon, working in Portland October 21-25, and then visiting friends near Eugene for a few nights. Upon my return to Washington, I'll stay in Tukwila October 28-30, and *finally* making it into downtown Seattle to finish my trip, October 31 to November 2.
SEATTLE!!
Alright, I don't know a thing about the place except Starbucks, the Space Needle, and the Fish Market (the real one, not the one that is akin to a sausage party)... But.
Seattle, I'm coming to do you!
Okay, this trip.
...has been a trip.
I'm on the third of three legs. (Who has three legs?!) Everything's bigger here. But nothing gets as big as my ... day. My day is long. Also.
I'm so tired, and so enjoying possibilities. Not enough are coming into fruition; but I can wish, right?.
Did I mention I'm tired?.
Preparing for Palm Springs.
As we head into the heart of summer, I'll be embracing the heat by heading, also, deeper into the desert.
I'm really looking forward to being out of Utah again, and excited for what adventures await me in PS. A little nervous, as I'm yet unsure about the trip, financially. And dreading the overwhelming heat.
But I'll be fine; of that, I'm quite sure.
Dear Chicago,
What I miss is how easy you were to be with. No tension at all. Kind people with no agendae, ready to have fun. No weirdness either, except that which I brought with me from Mormon country. Thank you for all those things!
Oh, and the view!!
I ain't leavin'!
Dreading a return to Utah, I skipped my flight home today, and booked another for this Monday, the 23rd. I'm available. Hit me up!
Atlanta, beautiful Atlanta!
This city has some character, that's for sure!
I spent the first part of my week locked in my room at a seedy airport hotel that, I swear, is about to get demolished. Because of the generosity of the clientele here, and my willingness to keep working hard, I was able to move up into midtown for the last two nights of my stay. Now I'm at this hip, historical landmark called Hotel Clermont - known for the strip-club in the basement. (Apropos?)
I've met some really great people, who, I expect, will remain friends long after I've returned to SLC. (Which means I'm'na have to come visit again!)
😎
Atlanta, here I come!!
Gate City?
Hotlanta??
Whatever. All I know is, I'm excited for this adventure. I'm glad to say that my hotel is paid up for the duration of my stay, and I have a return ticket already purchased as well. No major surprises there. Unfortunately, I am traveling without my table, but this is good practice for those times when I have to practice without my table. :]
Anyhow, I'd better get packing now
Atlanta, here I come.
I sure hope to have fun while there. And I *really* hope to support my stay, through the work I'll be doing. (Only a little concerned about this right now.)
Time for a new post.
Since my trip to Palm Springs over the holidays, I've been traveling a lot. Okay, not constantly, but more than ever, for me. I got to practice my massage in Denver and Las Vegas, and even got to see Cancún. I've got flights booked for Palm Springs again, this time I'll be there about four weeks, beginning mid-June.
I'm currently very seriously looking at a week-long trip to Georgia, in a couple weeks. I'm totally digging on this travel-to-work / work-to-travel system. It's really quite great!
Wow, Palm Springs.
I didn't plan for this trip. Moments of it have been absolutely petrifying, and there have also been many deeply-connected moments of ecstasy.
I'm really glad I came. I'm really glad I didn't leave when I was explicitly urged to do so. I'm also really glad to be leaving in a week. I can't believe how many times I've been *this close* (I'm holding my thumb and forefinger to almost touching right now, while simultaneously typing.) *this close* to being put out onto the street since I've been here.
Thank the gods for the kindness of strangers!! Well, thank the strangers, really. :/
First Stream
I'm staying at hotels a lot since placing my ad on this site. It's been a lot of fun, and also a welcome extravagance!! I do wish to travel more.
